Waterfront Living
Hello out there,
Honestly, this scenery you can capture everywhere in the Netherlands. Even the smallest towns have their own canals and it seems like the vast majority of people living in a waterfront home.
This particular shot was taken in Amsterdam, while I was staying a couple of days near The Hague. After the past two days had been extremely cold and mostly cloudy, it started clearing up as soon as I arrived at Amsterdams main train station. So I decided to walk around the city center and enjoy the first rays of sunlight.
Even though it was still early in the morning, the streets and even the canals were already crowded with people and passing boats. But as I walked away from the center, it already started getting calmer. And just a couple minutes later, as I crossed another one of the uncountable bridges, the perfect scenery revealed itself. The soft light of the rising sun was flawlessly falling into a row of houses, leaving the opposite side in the dark and the almost ultra smooth canal wonderfully mirrored them. I instantly pulled out my camera and took this shot, since it lasted only for just a couple of seconds, then a boat entered the scene, churning up the water.
