Storm Resistance
Hello out there,
Hiking in the mountains is one of my greatest joys. I’m always blown away by the magnificence and the view you get after you’ve reached the top. But probably you have already noticed that the visibility was not that great on the day this photo was taken.
Already early in the morning it was raining and very windy. So my hiking companions and I decided to visit a famous canyon in the far south of Germany called Partnachklamm, were we wouldn't be so exposed to the elements. Furthermore, we hoped the weather might change, while we were hiking through the canyon, so we could continue climbing to the top of the mountain later on. But the storm stuck right above us, so we were looking for shelter as we exited the canyon.
Just before walking into a nearby mountain chalet, I took a look behind and was blessed with the above view. A gap in the clouds lighted up perfectly the rock on the opposite side of the valley and the huts in the foreground. I instantly took my camera out, not caring if it would get wet since I knew the light would change any second. Just seconds after I took the shot the gap in the clouds closed and no more light was shining through, leaving a dull and grey scenery.
