Entering Wilderness
Hello out there,
Do you recognize this picture? You may have seen it before. It is one of my portfolio pictures I’m presenting here on the blog, to share the story of capturing it with you. From time to time I will pick another one, so stay tuned.
For the start, I chose this picture of the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver. To capture it, I got up really early to avoid the masses of people coming to the bridge every day and to hopefully get some morning mist hanging low in the canyon. I think the rain that morning helped to achieve both of these goals.
After a thirty minute ride from downtown with public transportation, by the way, which is really great in Vancouver, I arrived at the bridge. At least I thought I did since I could not see anything. The morning mist had turned into such a solid fog, that the visibility was extremely limited. After waiting in the cold for about an hour it started to clear up and the bridge revealed itself. Then I took this shot. Some minutes later the bridge already started filling with people. The perfect moment was gone. But I got a picture of it.
