Sun Bathing
Hello out there,
When visiting Durban on South Africa’s eastern coast, a walk down the cities promenade is a mandatory thing to do. Not only is the view of the ocean on one side and the skyline on the other just incredible, but also can it be amazing to observe the everyday life of the local people. Especially in the afternoon, when people get out of the office buildings right next to the beach, the promenade starts to fill up. Many have surfboards under der arms and hit the waves, while others just enjoy a walk in the sun with their family or get a drink at one of several bars. Of course, this was a great opportunity to capture some impressions of the South African way of life.
So while walking in the direction of the harbor, coming from the well-known football stadium, I saw three men sitting on the side of the promenade with the beach right behind them. From the distance, I thought it would be a nice scene to capture, since they all looked a kind of unique, and pulled out my camera. Unfortunately, as I got closer they stood up and prepared to leave, which ruined my intended photograph. But while I was almost next to them, they were still standing in the same place, probably waiting for one of them to finish his phone call. So I wanted to give it a shot and while I was walking by, pointed my camera in their direction and just pressed the shutter.
