Singing Fisherman

Hello out there,

After traveling through the deserts of Iran, I was looking forward to a stop near the end of my trip in Bandar Anzali at the Caspian Sea. Already after passing the mountain range, separating the Caspian Sea from most of the country, I could feel the climate getting much more enjoyable. It was by far not as hot as in the center of the country and the air, of course, felt much fresher than in the crowded cities.

My first destination, after checking into the hotel, was the beach, which is right next to the city center. Surprisingly, it was pretty crowded with local people having the same idea, to enjoy the last sunshine of the day along the water. Like everywhere else in Iran, many families were having a picnic or playing various ballgames.

At one point, I came by some fishing boats, which were anchored just a bit offshore. One of the fishermen instantly started to talk to me in Farsi. I guessed by his body language, that he was inviting me on a sunset cruise on his boat. I politely declined. The cheerful fisherman took it rather humorous and started to sing. Of course, I needed to take a photo of his spontaneous and striking performance. So I took out my camera, zoomed in on him and just pressed the shutter.
