Seagull Folk

Hello out there,

From my previous posts so far you have probably noticed that luck is always involved in getting beautiful pictures. But you have to seize your luck. So I always try to be at the right place at the right time to get the shot I'm looking for. This picture, on the other hand, was really taken out of pure luck.

It was captured by sea, for which I have a big affiliation. So one sunny morning during an extended weekend trip to the Netherlands, I decided to take a bike ride to the beach. From the place where I stayed it just took me about an hour to the promenade in Scheveningen, west of Den Haag. While walking by the impressive Grand Hotel in the sun, I had my camera hanging over my shoulder and enjoyed observing the everyday life of the Dutch people.

Then I came by an elder lady sitting on a bench feeding some seagulls. As I recognized at the same moment a young boy was heading towards her on his bicycle. I subconsciously imagined what was going to happen and grabbed my camera. Of course, the seagulls scared up and without even thinking about adjusting the settings to scenery, I hold down the shutter and hoped to be lucky enough to take at least one pleasant photo. Well as you can see above, sometimes you just have luck, without seizing for it.
