Hello out there,
Part of every visit to Vancouver has to be a trip to Vancouver Island. Already the ferry ride across the bay is worth the effort. You just have to sit down in one of the relax chairs and can watch a magnificent landscape go by. Seeing all these remote homes on small islands along the way, lets you just want to get off the ship and settle down right here.
From the ferry port on Vancouver Island, I took the bus to Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. On the way, I stopped at Butcher’s Garden, which is very well known for its diverse flora. But since it was winter at the time of my visit, of course only small parts of the spacious estate were blossoming.
After arriving in Victoria, the first thing I did was taking a walk along the harbor pier, to look at the splendor yachts anchoring. At the entrance of the port, the walk continued along the shore of the Pacific ocean. It was a terrific view. Due to the not so pleasant weather conditions, the ocean was stirred up, beneath some heavy grey clouds.
But not only the weather conditions made this view exceptional. As I recognized what protrude in between the clouds, I was over the moon. Right here, from Canada, I saw clearly visible the mountain range of the Olympic National Park in the United States. This was just spectacular and definitely made my day. Of course, I had to get my camera out, to take a photo of the scene. After waiting a couple of minutes for a better arrangement of the clouds, I pressed the shutter.
