Hello out there,

Honestly, I was quite surprised by Victoria, a neat little city, which actually is the capital of the Canadian state British Columbia, even though the much larger Vancouver is not far away. But since it is located on an Island just off the coast, the only way to get there is by ferry or seaplane. Of course, I took a trip with the much more affordable former mentioned option in combination with a bus, that gets you from the ferry terminal right into the city center.

Here my first destination was a farmers market I heard about. Since it was located right along the main street in Downtown, I found it right away and had some freshly caught fish for lunch. Afterward, I started to discover the city and its sights. Right away the harbor drew my attention with its magnificent yachts. From here I kept going along the shore to the open sea, from where I was able to capture the splendor view across the bay to the Olympic National Park, I shared recently here on the blog.

As it started getting darker, I headed back to the harbor, along which the main sights of Victoria are located. After I arrived, the way the states legislature building was lighted just blew me away. Immediately I started looking for the perfect spot to capture it. Since the most obvious view of the building, from the park right in front of it, was quite boring and in my opinion did not justify the excellent light installation, I decided to look for a more interesting angle. A couple minutes later I found just that on the other side of the harbor. I just had to set up my camera and press the shutter.
