Narrow Residence
Hello out there,
Dutch cities like Amsterdam, Den Haagen or Utrecht are quite unique. Almost everywhere in the world, the center of a city is dominated by high rise buildings for offices and apartments, but not so in the Netherlands. Here a city center still consists of just some townhouses with usually up to a maximum of six or seven floors.
Of course, does Amsterdam also have skyscrapers like other metropolises, but they are mostly located in its outskirts. This way, the city centers are a joy to walk through and discover. The channels, accompanying every major street, perfectly complement this experience. But especially eye-catching for me were the traditional townhouses when I visited the Dutch capital the last time.
For example, did I recognize some very prominent ones just in front of the main train station. They were all relatively narrow, compared to their height, and therefore looked liked squeezed together. As I walked closer to them, I saw that they were located right along a channel, in which the houses were wonderfully duplicated. Of course, did I want to capture this view in a photograph and pulled out my camera. I located it as close to the channel as possible, to focus just on the houses and their reflection. As everything was set up, I just pressed the shutter.
