Metallic Vibes
Hello out there,
Usually, I try to capture the big picture, but sometimes it can also be beneficial to focus on the details. For example, while I was spending a weekend in the United States northwestern city of Seattle, I visited the Seattle Center complex a couple of times. I really enjoyed walking underneath the Space Needle, through the park, and along the fountain, to observe the locals escaping from their busy city life.
Besides the Space Needle, one building right away caught my attention. The Museum of Pop Culture. It’s unique appearance of colorful curved metal plates definitely lets it stand out, even though most buildings around are quite unique. Of course, did I take some shots from the distance, with the whole building in the frame, but they did not turn out, how I imagined. One reason probably was, that I did not find a place with a good view of the building and another one, that the weather did also not play along. Therefore I thought about a closer framing and walked towards the building, which turned out to be a good idea.
Because, while I was standing right in front of it, I suddenly realized, what was actually fascinating to me about it. Not the shape of the building initially drew my attention, but its unique facade. So I looked for the most photogenic section of the facade, with a nice incidence of light. As I had found it, I adjusted my camera to the new field of view and just pressed the shutter.
