Golden Temple

Hello out there,

Luang Prabang is truly a pearl of Southeast Asia. Already the name of this town in the Laos jungle sounds like music and definitely needs to be on your itinerary if you travel the region. For me, it was completely unknown, until my barber told me about it when I made plans to visit Thailand. After looking up pictures of the place, I decided that I absolutely have to do a detour through Laos, to see it.

What you instantly recognize when you enter Luang Prabang are the magnificent Buddhist temples and colonial buildings, which are perfectly located in between the Mekong and Nam Khan river. For hours I walked through the streets and discovered an interesting building after almost every step I made. Meanwhile, I discovered several great cafes overlooking the river, where I spend the evenings in and watched the boats go by.

But on one of this walks, I also discovered the Haw Pha Bang Temple right next to the Royal Palace, which definitely stands out from all the outer places, due to its size and perfect maintenance. Of course, I wanted to capture it in a photo and started looking for a good perspective. Instantly the palm trees in front of the temple drew my attention. They just perfectly represent the laid-back impression I had of the Lao people. So step back and a little bit of angle, to incorporate them into my field of view.

Now I had to wait for the right moment to capture my photo. Since it was pretty crowded, several people were always walking by in front of my lens. But after about ten minutes, for just a split second, my line of sight was uninterrupted and I pressed the shutter.
