Enjoying Life

Hello out there,

It was the perfect end to an incredible trip. Spending the last day of our Italy journey at the Lake Como, before heading to the Bergamo airport, was a great decision. Even though we were there late in the fall, the weather was still excellent and the day in the laid-back city of Como just refreshing.

So after checking out of our Hotel in the north of Milan, it took less than an hour to the city of Como. When we arrived, we first walked a bit along the promenade, from where we spotted a rack railway going up the mountain. So headed over to its station and spend the noontime walking around the upper section of the city, enjoying the view on the lake beneath us.

After returning back to the city center, we visited the Cathedral, which is very impressive for such a small town, and strolled through the old lanes. As the sun started to set, we returned back to the lake and walked to a peninsula, where an impressive villa is located. On the way, we passed by several locales enjoying the last sunlight of the day in a park right next to the lake shore.

As time passed by, the light started to change and put the whole lake into an incredibly comfortable orange shade. As I wanted to take a picture of it, with one of the typical Italian cedars in the foreground, a couple stepped into the scene and set down on the wall. They were just right on cue and fitted perfectly in the scenery. So I got a little closer and rearranged my composition. Then I just had to press the shutter, to capture this perfect Dolce Vita moment.
