Enlightening Walk
Hello out there,
That Sri Lanka used to be a British colony, is very obvious to visitors if they leave the beautiful beaches behind and travel into the inner part of the island. Especially the cities Nuwara Eliya and Kandy in the mountains are full of hints about their British history, like a golf course, a horse race track or a botanical garden.
The latter one is not only worth visiting from a historical perspective but also just a joy to walk through since you can discover various plants from all around the world. And due to the Britan accuracy and esthetic, you get the feeling of being in the garden of a royal palace in Europe and not in Asia.
I decided to go and visit the botanical garden early in the morning before it would get too crowded. Accordingly, I could take my time, to capture some photos of the exotic flowers and trees. The soft morning light, was here also very helpful, to give the photos a pleasant mood.
As I was walking along one of the paths, which was wonderfully flanked with coniferous trees on either side, two locals were heading my way. I instantly knew that this would be a nice scene to capture since the sunlight perfectly cut through the trees, creating lovely light beams. So as soon as they passed me, I got my camera out, turned around and just pressed the shutter.
