Iron Colossus
Hello out there,
Compared to some other places I have been to over the years, Paris is probably the one closest to home. From time to time I, therefore, take the five-hour ride to spend a weekend in the French capital and of course the city of love.
But it is definitely not only the distance which makes Paris an attractive travel destination. The city also has a very unique culture, which I always enjoy to experience. So does it not matter at which time of the day or night you are looking for a cafe or restaurant, there is always one just around the corner, filled with locals debating about all kind of things.
After having breakfast at one of those places and observing the people coming and going, the sun started to rise, so I headed over to the probably most known sight in town. I’m sure you have already recognized it. The Eiffel Tower. Of course, I went over to the Palais de Chaillot, across the Seine river, to take a picture of the tower in front of the rising sun. Which was definitely a great view, but as I walked closer to it, I imagined a shot straight up with the sun in my back would even top it. So I walked around the tower and saw the perfect picture building up, as some clouds started to move through the scenery. To give them a smooth look, I decided to use a filter and capture the photo with an longer shutter speed. Which I think, did work out pretty good in combination with the rigid structure of the tower.
