Green Slope

Hello out there,

To discover how the appearance of a landscape changes with the weather can be quite fascinating. Surprisingly I don't notice it so much around where I live since I'm probably already too used to the place. But instead, I'm really aware of the changing appearance in places I visit on a regular basis, like the northern Alps around the city of Ehrwald in Austria. Here I usually spend at least one week a year to hike the mountains in summer or to ski them down in winter. Of course, is the change in the landscape quite striking between the seasons, but definitely also noticeable on one day to another. It just depends on the weather.

For example, did we one day decided to hike up a very familiar path to the Daniel peak. But since it rained a lot in the past days, the trail was very slippery and we decided about halfway up to turn around and walk back down. Here I suddenly recognized I stream in a very densely overgrown valley, I had never noticed before. This quite surprised me, because the crystal clear watercourse really stood out of its moos green surrounding. But probably due to the low hanging clouds, which blocked the view on the surrounding mountains, my eyes were not wandering around as usual and instead focused on what was right in front of me.

So as I got out my camera and realized, that sometimes an unexpected help is needed, to find a beautiful but often overlooked scenery. After I then found a nice field of view to capture the scene, by aligning the stream between two trees, I just had to press the shutter.
