Hello out there,

As I was getting out of the bus in the Isfahan's central station, the sun had already set and I was pretty tired of the ride. Since booking Iranian hotels in advance is not quite convenient, I did not have a place to stay and had to rely on the local taxi drivers for a good recommendation. Usually, they are very thankful for tourists they can arrange an accommodation for, due to the provision they get from the hotel manager. So it is a win-win situation and I quite often choose this way of finding a place to stay, instead of picking the overpriced tourist hotels out of the guidebook.

Anyway, as I was getting in the taxi in front of the bus station, I just had one request for the driver, that he would drive me to a hotel close to the central Naqsh-e Jahan Square. As far as I understood him, it was no problem.

A half an hour later, he stopped on a narrow street with a dead end, which did not look like being close to one of the world's most famous squares. A bit sleepy, I cautiously asked him, how far away it is and he just pointed in an even narrower side street as he got out of the car. Trustfully, I followed him.

We walked around two or three corners, as the high buildings on either side of the street suddenly ended. Just in front of me was the square, with the brightly lit Shah Mosque to my right. An unforgettable view.

My taxi driver brought me back into reality and showed me the hotel, which was just to our left. Quickly I got the necessary paperwork done and returned to the square to enjoy the unique atmosphere. Not being tired at all anymore, I pulled my camera equipment out and started to look for some nice views to capture. Of course, I had to take a photo of my first view, after stepping out of the narrow street, which highly impressed me. So I placed my tripod on the path right in front of the Shah Mosque, dialed in the settings and just pressed the shutter.
