Dutch Avenue
Hello out there,
It was a long day that I spend walking through Amsterdam. All the waterways going right through the city, make the Dutch capital just a joy to explore by foot. You just have to follow your nose and will sooner or later discover amazing places besides the typical tourist attractions, which you usually have all for yourself.
That's why I just spend the early morning hours wandering through the historic center and then headed off to the surrounding neighborhood, as most of the tourists enter the streets. Especially the districts to the east, just beyond the zoo, were quite interesting. Here and there you could find some beautiful city mansions and parks. From there I followed one of the major canals into the southwestern direction.
As the sun started to set, I headed back into the center. Surprisingly the streets were no longer busy and I could take my time to capture some photos. Especially photogenic was the view from the bridges, down the canals, with the trees on either side.
As it was getting darker and darker, I had to pull out my tripod, to deal with the increasing exposure time. A nice side effect of this was, that the moving clouds started to blur, which nicely contrasted the calm street. But the effect was not that prominent jet. So I waited until it was really dark and I could further increase the exposure time.
Just a couple minutes later, the perfect moment had arrived and I just pressed the shutter.
