Bonding Circle

Hello out there,

While I was traveling in Vietnam, I stayed in the countries capital Hanoi at the same time, as several graduation ceremonies were taking place. Therefore a lot of the sights, like the literature temple and imperial citadel, were filled with hundreds of students and their families.

A more comprehensive visitation of those sites was therefore not possible, which I actually did not mind. Since right away I was fascinated by the colorful traditional dresses, called Ao Dai,  the girls were wearing for the ceremony. They fitted perfectly in the scene of the historic sites, so I tried to include them in my photos, instead of waiting for a clear line of sight. Actually, these photos turned out to be my most favored ones of the whole trip. Especially in front of the literature temple, I was able to capture some great shots, which I will definitely share with you in the future.

But today I have a photograph for you I took in the citadel, which I like even more. While I was walking on top of the citadels defensive wall, I recognized some students on the court underneath me preparing for a group picture. As they were sitting down in circles, I looked for a nice composition, that would suit the scene. Even though I would have loved to put a part of the site into the frame, I realized, that focusing only on the group, would best convey this experience. So I zoomed into the circle of students and waited for the perfect moment to capture my photo. I knew the moment had come, as one girl looked up, giving the photo the perfect focal point.
