Awaiting Sunshine
Hello out there,
Even though many people in Germany know the name of this mountain, I’m pretty sure most of them will not recognize it. Maybe it is due to a fact, that it was photographed from Austria, although it is Germanys tallest peak. The Zugspitze.
Like every year in September, I was staying in the village of Lermoos, just across the border from the German city Garmisch-Partenkirchen, from where the most known pictures of the Zugspitze are taken. But in my opinion, the view from the Austrian side is much more beautiful since the mountain is perfectly located at the end of a valley.
On vacation, I usually try to get up early, since I’m hoping to shot some nice pictures during sunrise. And on this day, in particular, the torture definitely paid off. Already from the window of my room, I could see the sunrise was going to be very colorful. The sky was literally glowing in a dark purple tone. So I hastily put on my clothes, grabbed my camera equipment and went outside of the hotel.
In the meantime, the sky had changed its color to a fiery orange. I waited for a couple more minutes to see if it would get any more intense. But since it was already starting to get too bright, I took the shot.
