Glowing Needle

Hello out there,

After sharing a couple of photos of Italy’s historic sites, I would like to show you today, that there are also more modern views, which are definitely worth to capture. Especially in the north of Milan, you can find a couple of blocks, that look like they just have been built yesterday. Compared to the hundreds of years old city center, this neighborhood seems to be completely out of place. But since it was right on my way from the hotel to the cities famous sights, I got off the subway and took a look around.

Already from the exit of the station, I recognized a needle glancing through some of the buildings, which instantly drew my attention. As I got closer, I approached several high modern office and residential buildings, surpassing each other in their unique design. Capturing some interesting photos here should actually be not too hard.

But as I was standing right in front of the tower, with the before mentioned needle on its top, I decided that capturing the classic view up the building did not quite fit the scene. As I was, therefore, walking away from the tower, I came across a bridge, overpassing one of the highways going into the city center, from where I actually had the desired view. And just in time, as I set up my camera equipment, the sun started to rise over the city, wonderfully lightning the needle on top of the tower. Then, right on cue, a jogger came by, fitting perfectly in the frame and I just had to press the shutter.
