Balancing Walk
Hello out there,
Stanley Park was probably the place I visit the most, during my extended stay in Vancouver. Since it is so close to downtown, I spend many evenings walking along the seawall, a path going all the way around the park right beside the water, from where you can watch the huge container ships entering the city underneath the Lions Gate Bridge or anchoring in the English Bay.
Without having to think about it, I, therefore, decided to spend my last morning in town walking in the park. But since my flight already left around noon and I did not want to rush through, I got up really early to arrive there even before the sun rises. To bad that the weather did not play along and clouds completely covered the sky. To make things worth, it even started to rain.
As I was almost getting really depressed about the improbable conditions, I suddenly realized, that I was the only one walking along the seawall. During my two weeks in Vancouver, the path had always been packed with people, escaping the narrowness of the city. This emptiness now actually felt even a little bit strange and therefore I was almost relieved, as I saw somebody coming in my direction. As he came closer and closer, I recognized that he was not walking on the path along the seawall, but rather on the seawall itself. The leading line of the wall immediately made me realize, that this scenery would definitely make a great photo. So I pulled out my camera and captured it.
